Who We Are & What We Do
We are a parent co-operative preschool welcoming children aged 2½ to 5 years.
We are located inside Dovercourt Recreation Centre, and have been serving the community of Westboro and its surrounding areas for over 40 years.
Westboro Nursery School is inclusive of gender, culture and ability.
We operate on a non-profit basis and are administered by its member parents.
We are inspected and licensed annually by the Ministry of Education.
But most importantly we are here to enrich the lives of preschool children and their families.
We believe child-centred learning, hands-on activities, and creative play help to foster the development of the child as a whole.

About Our Teachers
The programming at our preschool is staffed by experienced, educated, and caring teachers.
Our teachers are Registered Early Childhood Educators who are members of College of Early Childhood Educators, the Association of Early Childhood Educators and the Nursery School Network.

Shannon Eddy Smith, Music & Movement Program Teacher
|
|
Westboro Nursery School is so lucky to have Shannon coming into the school every two weeks for each program to share her love of music. Shannon was quickly embraced as one of our own in 2004, after her two children attended the school. During her program, she introduces the children to all sorts of genres of music including classical, jazz, blues, pop and so much more! Shannon loves to sing, play her guitar and piano. The children learn early in the year to look forward to "Music with Shannon" days! |

We also invite parents, caregivers and people from the community to come into the school to share their talents with the children. Some examples of our special visitors have been a dentist, fire fighter, police officer, and a water safety instructor from Dovercourt.
All individuals assisting in duties and field trips are required by law to obtain a Police Records Check.
